A Storm Water Management Program Steering Committee was established in 2003 to guide the district in complying with the United States Environmental Protection Agency regulations, pertaining to the Phase II Storm Water Program.

The Steering Committee is responsible for developing an ongoing outreach storm water management program, designed to attract the attention of the entire school community from young school children to high school students, school board members, operations and maintenance staff, to teachers and school administrators.
