SOLO Literacy Suite
We are pleased to include SOLO Literacy Suite 6 as part of the district's effort to provide reading and writing support to all students.
SOLO is a suite of the most popular assistive technology programs to support reading and writing. The suite includes a text reader, graphic organizer, talking word processor, and word prediction tool. The new version (version 6) was completely redesigned to be simple to use yet powerful in supporting students who struggle to read and write.
The SOLO suite comprises a rich collection of features. It is highly customizable to meet your child's particular needs. In addition, your child can use one or two of the programs to provide the particular reading/writing support they need, or they can use the complete SOLO suite as an integrated whole to support their writing from planning and research to drafting and publishing.
Use it at Home!
The district has a universal license for this software, which allows SOLO to be installed on any computer, both at school and at home. It's easy -- click on the "Request Software" link on the left. You are welcome to request a copy of SOLO to install on your home computer(s) by submitting this form. The goal is that, by working together in this way-at home and at school-we can support your child in becoming a more powerful reader and writer.
